National Geographic Adventure Seeks Tips

The Next Weekend department is looking for helpful Adventure tips for readers. The keyword here is "adventure."

Lead time is five months and they are seeking ideas for summer, however they do keep ideas on file for future reference.

A good tip spells out the details about a great destination plus a compelling way to experience it: e.g., hiking, bicycling, climbing, multisport, rafting, skiing, paddling. “New” is always a great hook. Events sometimes work.

Trips can be DIY, lodge-based or outfitted. The outdoor adventure possibilities are paramount. (Please, no snowmobiles, ATVs, shooting or golf.)

Details are highly encouraged! A tip that says “the Catskills are a great place to go hiking” is strongly discouraged. Descriptions of the setting and terrain, specific place names, prices, and relevant service information are all critical.
