Long-time STS member Betty Huskins, AdvantageWest's senior vice-president of external relations, was cited by the North Carolina Department of Commerce for her significant efforts and contributions to the success of the tourism industry. As a 2009 "Winner’s Circle Award" winner, Huskins was recognized for being involved with a number of key tourism initiatives as well as serving as chair and vice chair for the N.C. Board of Travel and Tourism and as a delegate to the White House Conference on Tourism.
