Dear STS Member:
As our industry matures, it is more important than ever to be accountable to our stakeholders. This is true for public destination marketing organizations or private businesses; everyone wants and needs to know how we are doing.
That is why Southeast Tourism Society will be highlighting accountability as one of the cornerstones of the STS ethic.
When SMITH, STS’s strategic advisor, reviewed the initial response to the questionnaire in the June member newsletter, they saw that among the most relevant, actionable research STS members could use right now is a conversion study.
I am pleased to announce that SMITH will provide two free Visitor Conversion Studies per month to STS members.
Recipients will be randomly selected and receive a complete conversion study free-of-charge to as many as five different online media or data-sources.
This clearly is a time when knowledge is power, and together STS and SMITH want to put that knowledge at your command. Our goal is to demonstrate how important it is to have a conversion study – we encourage you to not wait until you “win” one.
So if you’ve considered such a study at all – if you have the means to commission one of your own – do it now.
Meanwhile, we will keep you updated in E-Flash's “R2: Responsive for Results;” there you will see who is selected each month to receive the two free studies. We’ll also share developments of what we see overall in the industry and among the membership. 
This SMITH initiative shows again what a unique and vital spirit we enjoy in STS. What SMITH is doing is consistent with the Society’s original and ongoing personality, mission and vision.
