Southeast Tourism Society and Travel South USA make plans to transition Domestic Showcase in 2021 and enhance educational programming. Southeast Tourism Society announced today a formal agreement with Travel South USA to transition TSUSA’s Domestic Showcase to STS in 2021.
8.6.18 Monica Smith hired as President & CEO of Southeast Tourism Society
With more than 26 years’ experience in the hospitality and tourism industry, Monica Smith becomes only the third CEO in STS's 35-year history. Most recently she was vice president of sales and services for Visit Jacksonville (Florida) the city’s tourism sales and marketing organization.
STS Director of Communications, Wendy Thomas, sat down with the Founders & Creators of Stooge, a new software program for event management, to discuss STS's role within tourism and the festival/event industry.
7.18.18 Bill Hardman honored during largest Congressional Summit in STS History
All 12 STS member states were represented during the 18th Annual STS Congressional Summit. More than 80 travel and tourism industry professionals met with members of Congress to discuss an array of issues important to tourism. Complementing policy education programs for attendees, and visits to congressional offices across Capitol Hill, was a celebratory dinner for Bill Hardman, who is retiring after 21 years as STS president and CEO and 50 years in the tourism industry.

Bill Hardman, president and CEO of Southeast Tourism Society (STS), is retiring after almost 50 years in the tourism industry. His tourism career began in 1969 with seasonal work at Six Flags Over Georgia and was capped by 21 years with STS.
