Southeast Tourism Society successfully completes its 32nd Year of Marketing College® at Mercer University

ATLANTA, GA – June 17, 2024: STS Marketing College® has successfully completed its course curriculum for the third consecutive year at Mercer University in Macon, GA. During the week of June 2, more than 320 tourism professionals learned from over 20 industry leaders on topics including, Tourism Product Development, Community & Destination Board Leadership, Essentials of Tourism Marketing, Syndicated Research, and Festival & Events. Marketing College also offers a three-year festival and events track, culminating in a Festival & Events Planner (FEP) certification.

“The longevity of this program, and the 1400+ TMPs to date, are a testament to the quality of education, leadership development, and networking that are the cornerstones of Marketing College.” says Monica Smith, President & CEO of Southeast Tourism Society. “We are so grateful to Miles Partnership for their countless years of support of Marketing College and to the Marketing College professors that have contributed to the program over the past 32 years.”

This year, Marketing College welcomed a new Provost and 2013 Marketing College alum, Shannon Gray, TMP. Gray is the CEO/Founder of Gray Research Solutions, a tourism research firm specializing in providing customer research solutions to tourism organizations, using data to help gain valuable insights about visitors and the proven value of tourism. “STS Marketing College is more than just a learning opportunity; it's a transformative experience that prepares our students for successful and fulfilling careers in tourism.” says Gray. “The expertise shared by our generous instructors strengthens our entire region's tourism sector by fostering a network of highly skilled and passionate professionals."

Marketing College is an excellent program for tourism professionals who are either new to the industry or tourism experts who need refreshers about the ever-changing trends and technology.
