The Southeast Tourism Society and Small Market Meetings have joined forces to produce the “STS Southern Meeting Guide,” the meetings industry’s most comprehensive meeting planning reference on second - and third-tier destinations in the Southeast. This marketing piece will be sent to over 16,000 meeting planners, association executives, and other meetings-related professionals.

The following is a list of features in the 2024 STS Southern Meeting Guide. Small Market Meetings relies on Southeast Tourism Society members to provide leads and information for features.

Content

1) What’s New: Throughout the Southeast, convention centers, hotels, resorts, offsite venues and other meetings facilities have seen new builds, expansions and renovations in recent years. This article will spotlight new developments at meeting venues in small and midsize destinations around the region.

2) Meeting at Museums: With impressive architecture, fascinating galleries and dedicated gather spaces, museums can make memorable venues for meetings and off-site events. This story will feature the wide range of institutions throughout the Southeast that can add interest and value to a meeting planner’s event portfolio.

3) Meetings at State Parks: Meeting attendees love combining business with pleasure, and state parks throughout the Southeast offer them places to work and play surrounding by the beauty of nature. This article will highlight parks that have meeting space, on-site accommodations and a variety of outdoor programming options for events.

4) Gaming Destinations: With plenty of hotel rooms and state-of-the-art meeting spaces, casinos make some of the most attractive one-stop meeting venues throughout the Southeast. This article will cover destinations around the region that offer a variety of casino properties for meeting groups, as well as non-gaming activities to complement them.

5) Budget-Friendly Destinations: For some groups — especially associations and nonprofits —keeping a tight grip on event budgets is an important part of the meeting planner’s job. This article will showcase some of the many destinations around the Southeast that offer extraordinary value in meeting venues, services, hotel rates and more.
