Recent Executive Orders as well as Office of Personnel Management and Office of Management and Budget memos issued by the new Administration are having real consequences for the National Park Service (NPS). Reducing the NPS workforce, via policies like hiring freezes, negatively impacts visitors to and operations at federal public tourism destinations and these areas’ surrounding local economies.
