for our latest Travel Media Meetup event as we showcase what to eat, drink, see and soak up in the Southeast.

In Atlanta, our “Southern Charms” themed edition of our bi-annual event, was such a hit that we decided to bring the theme to Birmingham. Destinations will showcase an authentically southern local crafter, specialty food or beverage (must be packaged), or unique product to your area. 

Registration is live and Birmingham is an incredible market to reach travelers to your destination and top-tier media from local, regional, and national outlets. Our past Birmingham events have included attendees from key media such as Southern Living, Taste of the South, Birmingham Home & Garden, AL.com, Good Grit, Style Blueprint, Cooking with Paula Deen, Southern Lady, Birmingham Parent, Alabama Magazine, AL.com, and more.

What is Travel Media Meetup?

Pineapple Public Relations connects destinations with top-tier media in a dynamic networking event. Get quality one-on-one time with the media to learn what they are looking for and pitch your story ideas.

Pineapple Public Relations hosts two Travel Media Meetup events a year in affiliation with the Southeast Tourism Society. Even if you’re working with a PR consultant/agency, this complements your efforts, yet saves the expense of researching the media and arranging deskside briefings.

Note:  We welcome agencies to represent on behalf of their clients, but we can only allow one destination to be promoted per table.

This event sells out due to limited participation - registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Cost:
$1,150 for STS Members OR $1,350 for non-members

Registration

Registration Includes:

  • Private engagement with at least 15-20 journalists and influencers from the coveted Birmingham media market for a single destination

  • Attending media contacts and information

  • Display area for networking

  • ONE attendee per destination (add a second attendee for $350)

  • Ability to showcase an authentically southern local crafter, specialty food or beverage (must be packaged) or unique product to your area. Media will receive a gift bag and fill items at your table.

What to Expect

Themed Southern Charms, this dynamic event is part trade show, part artisan market and fantastic for networking. Media will rotate through display tables and will be given a “Passport” to have destination partners check off as a stop along the way with enforced timed meetings. The media representatives must have each “stop” checked off their map to enter for a coveted prize drawing, which ensures additional face-to-face time with each partner and media representative.
